Extractions

If it is determined that your child’s tooth needs to be removed, your dental team will review with you and your child the process in child-friendly terminology.  The last thing we want to do is to surprise your child or make them more anxious.

A few of the common reasons a tooth may require extraction are: trauma, a large cavity or extensive dental infection, an over-retained baby tooth, severe crowding, or other orthodontic reasons.

Although the word extraction can cause some anxiety for even the most relaxed dental patient, extractions can be one of the quickest and easiet dental procedures performed in the office.  However, if a tooth is severely infected or your child is highly anxious additonal treatment options may be recommended to make the appointment as comfotable as possible,
